As an artist, I’m always looking for new ways to integrate art into daily life. When I had the opportunity to collaborate with Auping, a brand known for its innovative approach to design and comfort, I was immediately excited. The result of this collaboration is something truly special: a reimagined version of the Original bed by Auping, transformed into a work of art specifically for the readers of de Volkskrant.

What makes this project so interesting to me is the way I could combine my conceptual approach to art with the practical aspect of a bed. I don’t see this as just a place to sleep, but as a canvas, a space to embed my ideas and emotions. The bed is a reflection of how art and design can enhance one another, how the everyday can be transformed into something not only functional but also visually engaging, inspiring, and thought-provoking.

The bed itself has been reworked with a colorful, sparkling artwork that incorporates elements of abstraction and movement. For me, art is always about more than just visual aesthetics; it’s about creating a feeling, an experience. I hope this bed becomes not just a place of rest, but also a source of inspiration for the person who wins it.

This reimagined version of the Original bed is an exclusive project in collaboration with de Volkskrant and is not available for purchase in regular stores. This makes it even more unique — it’s not just a product, but a one-of-a-kind art piece created to become a part of someone’s life. The bed is up for grabs, meaning one lucky reader will have the chance to bring this artwork into their home and enjoy the creation I’ve crafted with care and passion.

The collaboration with de Volkskrant makes this project even more special for me. It’s a wonderful way to share my work with a wider audience and bring art closer to people. Art has the power to change the way we perceive the world, and I hope this bed will convey a piece of that power to the person who ultimately wins it.

Want to win this art bed? Keep an eye on de Volkskrant for more details on how to participate in this unique opportunity. I’m curious to see who will give the bed a new home!
